MACHINE QUILTING SERVICES offer a way to finish quilt tops by using a long-arm quilting machine to stitch through layers of fabric and batting, creating a finished quilt with a variety of designs and techniques.
Here's a more detailed look at machine quilting services:
What is it: Machine quilting involves using a specialized sewing machine (often a long-arm machine) to stitch through multiple layers of fabric and batting, creating a finished quilt.
Why use it? It's a faster and more efficient way to quilt compared to hand quilting, allowing you to finish quilt tops quickly and with a professional look.

Things to consider when choosing a service:
-
Machine Type: Long-arm machines are known for their ability to quilt large quilts efficiently. I use the Bernina Q24 Long Arm Machine Quilting Machine.
-
Quilting Style: I currently only offer edge-to-edge.
-
Turnaround Time: Inquire about the estimated time it will take to complete your quilt. I aim for a 2 week turn around time, once I start your quilt.
-
Batting: You can provide your own batting I have batting available for purchase. I have "Warm and Natural and 80/20 Hobbs batting. Cost: .25 per width inch.
-
Thread: I only use Isacord thread as my machine is picky. You can select color thread from my collection. Cost: $7-20 depending on the size of the quilt. Specify color.
-
Preparation: Understand the preparation needed for your quilt top and backing, such as squaring, and pressing. Backing and batting must be 3-4 inches wider on all four (4) sides to accommodate machine rollers and squareness issues of the quilt. All thread must be trimmed and quilt top seams ironed.
-
Binding Services: You can have the binding attached on one side (Fee: $10-20) or attached and machine stitched down (Fee: $20-40). Fee's are determined by quilt size.
